Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:02 AM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify DirectControl

Question:
Why am I seeing the message "base.schema Skipping orphaned item"? Sample messages from log file are:

Sep 2 16:36:19 biglouie adclient[1290242]: INFO <fd:19 LAMGetUserGroupIDs> base.schema Skipping orphaned item (CN=mcpuser,CN=Groups,CN=DEV,CN=Zones,OU=ProdUnix,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=NET)
Sep 2 16:36:19 biglouie adclient[1290242]: INFO <fd:19 LAMGetUserGroupIDs> base.schema Skipping orphaned item (CN=opscfg,CN=Groups,CN=DEV,CN=Zones,OU=ProdUnix,DC=MYDOMAIN,DC=NET)

Answer:
These messages indicate the group object exists in the zone, but the real Active Directory group object is deleted.

Run "Analyze Forest" in the Administrator Console and clean orphan objects from the zones. Refer to "KB-1000: How to remove orphaned UNIX objects from Centrify Zones." for detailed steps.
