KB-1820: Is there a setting in DirectControl for SAP to ignore upper/lower case usernames?

Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:07 AM

Applies to:  All versions of Centrify DirectControl for SAP on all Platforms

Question:

We have usernames in SAP in uppercase. When testing Single Sign-On, login fails for users with usernames in uppercase in SAP. Changing it to lowercase in SAP does allow user to login without any issues.

Is there a parameter setting in Centrify DirectControl for SAP to ignore the upper/lower case of the SNC name either on the client side or the server side?

Answer:

Unfortunately this is a limitation of SAP and SNC, there's nothing Centrify can do to get around it. Therefore the AD username (UPN) must match exactly with the SNC name of the SAP user.
