KB-1787: Running adjoin -V or adjoin --verbose automatically enables debug mode for adclient

Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:02 AM

Applies to: Centrify DirectControl 4.4.0-4.4.3

Problem:
Running adjoin -V or adjoin --verbose automatically enables debug mode for adclient

Cause:
During the join operation, if -V or --verbose is used, the configuration parameter "log: DEBUG" gets set in /etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf. As a result, adclient starts logging debug information into syslog until it is turned off by running "addebug off".

Workaround:
If you'd like to use -V or --verbose with adjoin, after the machine is joined to the domain, please turn off debugging by running: /usr/share/centrifydc/bin/addebug off

Resolution:
This will be fixed in Centrify DirectControl 5.0
