Tips for finding Knowledge Articles

  • - Enter just a few key words related to your question or problem
  • - Add Key words to refine your search as necessary
  • - Do not use punctuation
  • - Search is not case sensitive
  • - Avoid non-descriptive filler words like "how", "the", "what", etc.
  • - If you do not find what you are looking for the first time,reduce the number of key words you enter and try searching again.
  • - Minimum supported Internet Explorer version is IE9

KB-1659: rsync failed when ssh banner is enabled

Problem:

Running rsync command using local user account results in an error if SSH Banner is enabled.

rsync error: received SIGINT, SIGTERM, or SIGHUP (code 20) at rsync.c(244) 

Cause:

Rsync in general is very sensitive to the Banner ssh displays.
It will fail to run if any unexpected prompt returned.

Resolution:

1. Disable SSH banner by modifying the sshd_config file and comment out the line ‘Banner’. 

2. Please restart sshd service after change the sshd configuration.
