Question:

Is AllowFiles a supported parameter with Centrify OpenSSH on AIX machines?

On AIX machines with Centrify enabled OpenSSH installed, if AllowFiles parameter is used in sshd_config, the Centrify-sshd service will not start with this parameter present because Centrify openssh implementation does not recognize such parameter.

Answer:

Centrify enabled OpenSSH is based on the stock OpenSSH.

Allowfiles appears to be an unique feature which is implemented on AIX OpenSSH. The stock OpenSSH implementation does not recognize such parameter, as such, sshd will refuse to start.

if using Allowfiles is required, AIX OpenSSH needs to be used.
