KB-16343: Using a custom password prompt that does not start with the word "Password" breaks MFA

Privileged Access Service ,

Problem:

For the UNIX machines with Centrify Server Suite installed and it is configured to use Centrify MFA in the login, CPS login session pauses at the prompt if Centrify Server Suite is configured to use a custom password prompt and the custom password prompt does not start with the word "Password".

User must hit the "Enter" key to login after supplying the credentials.

Solution:

In order to avoid the pause in the CPS Manual Login when custom Password prompt is set, start the custom prompt with the word "Password". For example, "Password for AD account".

This will show the required custom prompt when using non-CPS applications and work without the pause in CPS.

To enable custom prompt from GPMC (Group Policy Management Console):

Computer Configuration > Policies > Centrify Settings > DirectControl Settings > Password Prompts > Set login password prompt
