How to enable debugging for Weblogic 10.3 Managed & Admin servers

 

Answer:

 

Weblogic Managed Server:

 

1. Edit the JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/logging.properties file
2. Change java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level from INFO to ALL
3. Enable debug on Centrify components by adding the following line at the end of the file:
        com.centrify.level = FINE
4. Restart Weblogic Server
5. From a browser, go to weblogic server’s admin console and log in.
6. Navigate to “Servers -> server” ,  where server  is the name of the weblogic server, for example, “AdminServer”
7. Click on the “Logging”  tab
8. Go to bottom of the page and expand “Advanced”
9. Just below “Advanced”, change  “Minimum severity to log:”  to “Trace”
10. Under “Logger severity properties:”, enter “com.centrify.level=Debug”
11. Scroll down to “Message destination(s)”
12. Make sure that under “Log file:” the “Severity level:” is set to “Debug”.
13. Click on Save
14. Restart weblogic server

 

Weblogic Admin Server:

 

1. From a browser, go to weblogic server’s admin console and log in.
2. Navigate to “Servers -> server” ,  where server  is the name of the weblogic server, for example, “AdminServer”
3. Click on the “Logging”  tab
4. Go to bottom of the page and expand “Advanced”
5. Just below “Advanced”, change  “Minimum severity to log:”  to “Trace”
6. Under “Logger severity properties:”, enter “com.centrify.level=Debug”
7. Scroll down to “Message destination(s)”
8. Make sure that under “Log file:” the “Severity level:” is set to “Debug”.
9. Click on Save
10. Restart weblogic server
