KB-1420: How to restore Centrify Zones in AD

Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:13 AM

Applies to: All versions of Centrify DirectControl for UNIX/Linux

Question:

In the event of a disaster with Active Directory domain, how does one restore Centrify specific data from a backup solution?

Answer:

Centrify does not recommend a partial restore of Centrify zone data or a specific container or OU. All the zone information (including Unix user, group objects) are all stored in AD. A DR exercise or the backup software is expected to restore everything in AD. Once this is done, Centrify data will be available.

Note: Once the information is restored in AD, zone information can be viewed by finding the corresponding zone on Centrify DirectControl Console (aka Centrify DirectManage Access Manager)
