KB-1239: What is the meaning of "WARN util.runqueue Log queue is full" in /var/log/centrifydc.log

Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:13 AM

Applies to: All version of Centrify DirectControl UNIX/Linux on all platforms

Question:

What does the following warning message mean in /var/log/centrifydc.log file?

WARN util.runqueue Log queue is full. You may need to increase the value of logger.queue.size in
centrifydc.conf.

Answer:

The message simply means the system is heavily loaded and the log queue does not have the time to empty. The number of messages queued to be written to the log file is controlled by the following parameter in /etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf:

logger.queue.size: 256

A quick workaround of this problem is to set a higher value:

logger.queue.size: 512

Note: Increasing it to 512 should only increases the memory usage by around 200K.
