KB-1192: Getting error message "Source file must exist under [domain] SYSVOL [domain]"

Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

28 October,13 at 12:51 PM

Applies to: Centrify DirectManage Access Manager 4.2 and higher.

Problem:

When trying to add a file into the "Copy files" GP under:
  • Computer Configuration / Centrify Settings / Common UNIX Settings / "Copy files"
..the following error is shown:

User-added image

Cause:

This can happen if the Group Policy Management Console on the Windows server is unable to resolve the default path format used by the "Copy files" GP.

Workaround:
  1. In the "Origin" box, enter the actual hostname of the server carrying the file, instead of just domain name.
  2. Then use the "Browse" button next to the Filename box to navigate to the target file.
  3. Configure the rest of the policy as needed.
The GP can now be saved and will function as expected.
