KB-11483: RDP fails from the tenant but credentials are valid

Privileged Access Service ,

2 January,19 at 08:20 PM

Problem: When attempting to RDP to a Windows machine from the tenant it fails. Credentials have been verified but RDP still does not work.

Cause: The issue is related to this recent Microsoft patch

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4093492/credssp-updates-for-cve-2018-0886-march-13-2018

Currently the Centrify RDP library does not have the patch in the 18.11 release.  When attempting to RDP to a windows system that has the patch installed and "Encryption Oracle Remediation" is set to  "Force updated clients", then the connection will fail.

Workaround: The workaround is to set the "Encryption Oracle Remediation" to "Mitigated"  on the target windows system.

This can be accomplished via Group Policy:
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Credentials Delegation -> Encryption Oracle Remediation

Solution: This will be fixed in a future release.
