This article describes known changes and issues after installation of Safari 12 or Mojave 10.14 on Mac systems running Centrify.
Safari 12 is included with Mojave installations and as a separate download available from Apple.
Safari 12 & CAC Authentication
There is an issue with Safari 12 where users are unable to access CAC-protected websites.
When using CAC smartcards Safari does not prompt the user for their PIN. An error is then displayed saying ‘Safari Can’t Open the Page – WebKit encountered an internal error’.
At this time, the only workaround is to use Google Chrome for CAC-protected websites.
Safari 12 & Centrify Browser Extension (CBE)
SSO Applications that require Centrify Browser Extension fail to launch.
Apple has changed its policy to require browser extensions to be built as Safari App Extensions installed exclusively from the Mac App Store.
Client can install the ‘centrify.safariextz’ on Safari 12 by adding the extension as a zip file in extension builder (developer mode). Detailed instructions can be found at the following link (provided as a courtesy):
