KB-10610: The screen shakes after using a smart card to unlock the Linux system

Authentication Service ,

1 July,18 at 02:40 AM

Problem:
Logging into the RHEL 6.9 server with a smart card works fine. If you lock it and then attempt to unlock it with the smart card, the screen shakes making it difficult to click in the box for entering your PIN. The shaking doesn't stop until you enter your PIN.

Resolution:
A full resolution isn't available at this time but there is a work around. The work around is to do the following:

1) Edit the centrifydc.conf file and find or edit the following parameter so that it looks like this:

smartcard.name.mapping: true

2) Restart centrifydc with the following command:

/usr/share/centrifydc/bin/centrifydc restart
