KB-10600: After logging in the user shows up as 'I have no name!"

Authentication Service ,

29 June,18 at 10:24 PM

Problem:
After logging into a Linux system with a non-privileged account, the user ID shows up as "I have no name!"

Cause:
The ID doesn't have the correct permissions to the /var directory.

Resolution:
Chanse permissions in the ACL for /var with the following procedure as root or sudo:

1. run "chmod 755 /var"
2. Verify /var now has Read and Execute permissions for "Group" and "Other".
