KB-0708: Getting error message "The server is not operational"

Centrify DirectAudit ,   Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:02 AM

Applies to:

CDC  Admin Console 4.0 on Windows XP / 2003

Problem:

Getting error message "The server is not operational" when Create Zone , Add User to Zone or Delegate Zone Control

Reason:

There are many causes for this error message but most likely it is due DNS server failing to resolve the domain name

Workaround:

Add an A-record for the domain to the DNS server, or add a temporary entry your local hosts file.
For example, the hosts file can be found on a 32-bit system in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and add something like:

127.0.0.1       centrify.com

Replace 127.0.0.1 with the server IP address and centrify.com with the actual domain name

Resolution:

Fixed in DirectControl 4.1.0
