KB-0633 : ad* commands fail with "undefined symbol: libiconv_open" errors

Authentication Service ,

19 December,17 at 12:19 AM

Problem:

ad* commands fail with "undefined symbol: libiconv_open" errors

Cause:

If Centrify DirectControl agent, Samba are installed on the machine and if "hosts" in /etc/nsswitch.conf has "wins" as the first entry then executing ad* commands results in the following error:

adinfo: relocation error: /lib/libnss_wins.so.2: undefined symbol:
libiconv_open

Resolution:

Either move wins from being the first parameter value for "hosts" in nsswitch.conf or remove it.
