KB-0543: How to use Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) to Deploy Centrify DirectControl agent

Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:21 AM

Applies to: Centrify DirectControl version 5.1.1 and higher on Mac OS X

Question:

How to use Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) to deploy Centrify DirectControl agent?

Answer:

Apple Remote Desktop is commonly used by administrators to perform various administrative management tasks on remote Mac systems, including remote controlling the system, gathering inventory, and installing software.
  • Support for Apple Remote Desktop was introduced in version 3.0.3 of the Mac agent and required some modification to allow for remote deployment via ARD.
  • As of version 5.1.1, the installation package natively supports ARD and there is now no need to modify the pkg file.
