KB-0407: automount NFS with NIS not working after upgrade

Centrify DirectControl ,

12 April,16 at 11:43 AM

Problem:

Automount NFS with NIS is not working after upgrade

Cause:

Uninstalling the earlier version of DirectControl before installing the new release of DirectControl wiped out the old configurations that were in place in /etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf.

As a result, the line nisd.securenets: was removed and no remote NIS clients would be able to access the NIS (adnisd) server except localhost.

Resolution:

Edit the following line in centrifydc.conf:

    nisd.securenets: 0/0

This allows everybody to connect to the adnisd and use it as a NIS server. The AD zone name must be the same as the NIS domain, and it will only serve the maps it has.
