KB-0363: Renaming OU in Active Directory & effect on Centrify

Centrify DirectControl ,   Centrify Identity Service, Mac Edition ,

12 April,16 at 11:23 AM

Question:

How does it affect Centrify if an OU containing Centrify data is renamed? Will it break agents running on client hosts and how would the Centrify Admin Console behave?

Answer:

For the Admin Console:
  • If the OU containing Centrify configuration data is changed, the Centrify Admin Console will show errors such as:
    • Cannot find zone centrify-sa.com/Unix-Centrify/Centrify/Zones/default, it may have been deleted already. It will be detached from this console.
  • This is because the console is trying to open the objects from the previous location path.
  • To fix this:
    1. Clear the notification and right-click on Zones and select:
    2. Open Zone > Find Now > Select the Zone to be added to the console.

For client hosts joined to the domain via Centrify:
  1. Restart the agent on the machine:
    • /usr/share/centrifydc/bin/centrifydc restart
  2. Give it a few minutes before verification whether agent is showing the new Zone information correctly by running:
    • adinfo
  3. Once connection is confirmed, run
    • adflush
