KB-0363: Renaming OU in Active Directory & effect on Centrify
Question:
How does it affect Centrify if an OU containing Centrify data is renamed? Will it break agents running on client hosts and how would the Centrify Admin Console behave?
Answer:
For the Admin Console:
If the OU containing Centrify configuration data is changed, the Centrify Admin Console will show errors such as:
Cannot find zone centrify-sa.com/Unix-Centrify/Centrify/Zones/default, it may have been deleted already. It will be detached from this console.
This is because the console is trying to open the objects from the previous location path.
To fix this:
Clear the notification and right-click on Zones and select:
Open Zone > Find Now > Select the Zone to be added to the console.
For client hosts joined to the domain via Centrify:
Restart the agent on the machine:
/usr/share/centrifydc/bin/centrifydc restart
