KB-0179: Java Applications and Oracle doesn't run after CDC installed.

Centrify DirectControl ,

12 April,16 at 11:30 AM

Problem:

Java applications and Oracle does not run after Centrify DirectControl is installed.

Cause:

For some applications which depend on NSS, the order in the nsswitch.conf file is very relevant and important. Centrify edits the /etc/nsswitch.conf causing the application to try and authenticate with Centrify.

Resolution:

Make sure you if you have applications which are dependent on NSS, have 'files' entry in front of centrifydc in /etc/nsswitch.conf

Centrify Direct Control agent automatically updates the /etc/nsswitch.conf file, it is strongly recommended to configure the agent so it does not change the entries in the file.

This can be achieved by editing /etc/centrifydc/centrifydc.conf file. Open and look for

adclient.autoedit: <true/false>

and set it to false.
