KB-0113: Stopping Apache before joining a domain

Centrify DirectControl ,

12 April,16 at 11:24 AM

Problem:

Unable to join the domain when a server is running apache.

Cause:

If you are running an Apache server with a php module loaded, the Kerberos krb5.keytab file may be locked by those processes, preventing the adjoin command from performing its configuration tasks and joining the domain. If you encounter this problem, the adjoin process appears to hang because it is waiting to access the locked file.

Resolution:

If you are running Apache with php, you should stop the Apache service before attempting to join an Active Directory domain.
