How to handle local and Active Directory account conflicts in AIX


Answer:

If you log in as a local user that conflicts with an Active Directory user, you need to set the AUTHSTATE environment variable to CENTRIFYDC before invoking the command to view the Active Directory accounts that have conflicting information. For example, in the bash shell, you would type a command similar to the following:

AUTHSTATE=CENTRIFYDC id janedoe
