Product:

Centrify Infrastructure Services

Component:

Centrify Agent for Windows

Summary:

Please be advised of the following important product notice regarding Centrify Agent for Windows™ and Windows 10 1803* Spring Creators Update (Code Name: Redstone 4).

The Centrify engineering team has identified an incompatibility issue with an upcoming version of Windows 10 1803 (Redstone 4).  According to Microsoft, this upcoming release called “Spring Creators Update” will be available sometime in April 2018.

This update will fail with error code 0x80070002 in Windows 10 systems with the Centrify Agent for Windows™ installed running the Privilege Elevation Service (zone mode).

Customer Mitigation

Option 1: Use the Centrify Agent for Windows included with Infrastructure Services 2018

Centrify will release a new version of the Infrastructure Services (formerly Centrify Server Suite) in late April, 2018. This release will include a compatibility patch for Windows 10 Redstone 4. Please contact Centrify Support if you would like to receive early access to the newest version of Centrify Agent for Windows.

Option 2: Work-around if you do not wish to update the Centrify Agent for Windows

Since this happens to systems in Zone mode (using the Privilege Elevation Service), administrators can:

  1. Switch to Zoneless mode
  2. Perform Windows upgrade
  3. Switch back to zone mode after the upgrade
